In summer, Maurset beckons with beautiful hiking trails and fishing opportunities in the clear mountain lakes of Hardangervidda National Park, where trout are just waiting to be caught. Visit Dyranut and Kjeldebu or hike up Hardangerjøkulen, one of the most beautiful viewpoints between Eidfjord and Ulvik. The nearby Vøringsfossen waterfall offers a spectacular natural spectacle. The Hardangervidda Museum in Eidfjord offers exciting insights into the wildlife of northern Europe's largest mountain plateau.

In winter, the region turns into a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts with the Syssendalen ski centre and groomed cross-country ski trails right on the doorstep. You can also explore the area on foot, by bike or in a kayak on guided tours organised by Flath Earth Adventures. The Hardangerfjord, the charming village of Eidfjord and sights such as Mikkelparken Kinsarvik, Folgefonna National Park and Trolltunga are also worth a visit. Excursions to Voss, which offers a wide range of activities in winter and summer, also provide variety.
